How Microsoft Can Help Me Be a Better Teacher

About seven years ago, I was fortunate to be selected to be an Intel Teach to the Future/Microsoft instructor. The opportunity launched my learning to a new paradigm. I was able to teach the course to over 40 teachers in my district and last year I designed an online course that built upon the foundation of Intel Teach to the Future. This course has been offered over and over in our large district.
About three years ago, I had the honor of opening Meiklejohn Elementary School in Jefferson County, Colorado. We have moved our students forward in providing quality learning and technology tools such as: SMART boards, mounted LCD projectors, doc cameras and around 200 laptops. I teach a SMART board course for the district.
Our goal at Meiklejohn is to take our students as far as they are able to go in their learning. (The sky seems to be the limit for them!)My 1st graders are building Animal Animation movies this week. I would love to continue learning new teaching technology tools that would empower my students and my staff and try to keep up with the kids!
